Vendors, Know Your Target

July 25, 2013

For several months now I’ve been intending to write about how vendors, and their PR machines, need to know their target.  I can’t tell you how many of them approach me to write about their product or book with no thought of asking me to do this for free.  Look, like any good capitalist, I get paid for my time.   Problem is, that I never made time to write about it.  But that is where my friend Matt Stollak, writer of the TrueFaith HR blog, comes in.

Matt shares an excellent piece, albeit a bit tongue-in-cheek, on this very topic.  Should he be a sell out?  Sure….and I will too!  Be sure to click through to read 1963 and comment on your take on the topic.

Happy Friday!

  • As long as you still have stuff to sell, you haven’t sold out!!!!

As I have said in the past, you only work for “free” in a few instances, such as community service as part of a sentence. Otherwise, sell it at the highest price the market will bear.
